A sampling of the arts and crafts inspired fabrics I am using for a beautiful home in the heart of Campbellville. This includes a bold patterned linen from Belgium (seen in top left) that will be banded with a contrast band of a solid cranberry fabric along the entire 14 foot wide window treatment and a cork fabric (top right) that will upholster a large ottoman on castors.

Just a few final details to add to these two rooms including loading up the bookshelves. I absolutely LOVE the colour and personality in this Dining/Living space. Wall Paint Colour: Passion Plum 2073-30 Benjamin Moore, trim Colour: Oxford White CC-30 Benjamin Moore.
Kiss the beige walls goodbye!
The Calvin Klein graphic area carpet is the perfect touch to this space.
We are waiting on one spectacular custom art piece that is being commissioned for the wall space above these chairs.
These two tiny windows are positioned awkwardly high and apart on the sofa wall.
Solution: install a floating art ledge to continue the window line and place art to fill the void space.
Because these spaces were designed around my clients love for books…we chose her most cherished reads to be framed in shadow boxes and hung in a prominent spot on the Dining room focal wall. What a great graphic punch!

Carly is now a teenager and wanted to transform her “kiddie -style” bedroom into a more age appropriate space. She loves the beach and wanted a space where her friends could relax and hang out with her. Check out the before shots below….and scroll down for the afters!
Teenage beach bliss! The capiz shell hanging pendant is the showstopper in this space. I LOVE it! The walls are painted in a soft BM Woodlawn blue. We kept the existing bed frame, but added a custom tufted headboard in a graphic pattern. The love seat, pulls out to accommodate friends for sleepovers and the ottoman flips up to hide a laptop, homework and all that fun stuff you want to hide from your parents
A sawhorse table (Ikea) is tucked under the window with a contemporary ghost chair in front.
I re-located the existing dresser to the window niche area for a perfect TV viewing apot and changed out the wood knobs to an updated chrome bevelled knob. Two bookshelves sit on either side to display all of Carly’s cherished books and treasures. A full length bevelled mirror was incorporated into the space….a must have for a teenage girl! Soft off-white textured sheer panels were used on both windows (Ikea)
I used my client’s existing night tables and again, changed the hardware to a cut glass knob. Two matching open top glass lamps sit on either side that can be filled up with treasures….in this case sea shells. My client found the perfect coral accent pillows that tie in the colours of the watercolour painting to the right.…

Here are a few of my 3D drawings from a recent Kitchen/Family Rm./Dining Rm. renovation project I worked on. Sometimes clients have a hard time picturing the proposed design especially when walls are moving and spaces are being completely re-configured. These 3D renderings are a great tool so clients can get a real visual on what the finished product will look like. This particular project had 3 compartmentalized rooms: a small kitchen, an unused dining room and a family room area. My new design removed walls and completely re-configured these rooms to create a large multi-functional space for a busy family of five.

The areas highlighted in blue above were the rooms that were re-configured in the new design.

Here is a bird’s eye view of the new spacious kitchen that opens to the family room through a raised bar. I relocated the patio doors to the backyard from the family room to the kitchen. This way, it is easier to access and I could then accomodate a large sectional in the family room.

Again, another bird’s eye view with a better perspective of the bar area.

A rendering of the main kitchen area featuring medium stained maple cabinetry on the perimeter and painted off-white cabinetry for the island to match the millwork around the raised bar. Caesarstone, a fabulous quartz product, was used for all of the countertops (http://www.caesarstoneus.com/)

The island had to be narrow in shape due to the width of the room; however, it does not lack in storage with effective deep drawers and a concealed microwave below. A casual kitchenette table floats off this island and features a bamboo veneer top. The pocket doors to the new dining room feature frosted glass inserts and can be closed off to hide the mess in the kitchen.

The counter depth/french door fridge is flanked by a large pantry with roll out drawers in the interior…. a must have for a healthy and hungry family of 5! Two open storage areas include a wine cabinet to the right of the sink and a bookshelf by the patio doors.

Three mid-sized pendant light fixtures hang over the long island & eating table.

Transitioning into the family room, there is a raised bar for casual eating that looks out to the fireplace and wall mount TV. Perfect for entertaining! This millwork matches the island cabinetry and conceals a load bearing structure that is critical to the 2nd floor.

Bird’s Eye view of the family room.

Here is a view from the family room into the kitchen. The stainless Range hood & range is on centre with the island to create a great focal point for the entire space.

I finally got my hands on the Eric Cohler light fixture I fell in love with 2 years ago. I love the juxtaposition of both traditional and modern elements. The steel floating frame relates well with the iron spindles of the staircase. I recently attended an Eric Cohler presentation where I fell in love with his eclectic style. He is a talented NYC designer with his own lighting line with Visual Comfort and a fabric line with Lee Jofa.…

I used 11 x 17 honed carrara tile on the floor installed in a brick pattern. The double vanity is finished in a dark cherry with chrome bevelled hardware to match the chrome faucets. The countertop is carrara marble as well. A cabinet matched mirror frame is used and brought all the way up to the ceiling to make the space appear larger. The lighting will be integrated into the mirror. A half wall was constructed to hide the toilet from your vision when you first walk into the room.
A freestanding bath tub is the way to go these days in bathrooms! This tub looks very sculptural beside the neighbouring window. I need to find the perfect glass accent table for a spot to rest a glass of wine!
A frameless glass shower allows the clients to view their beautiful tile from anywhere in the room. 2 x 2 mosiac marble is on the floor, white/grey porcelain tiles on the wall, and an accent band of tumbled carrara marble with chocolate glass listellos.
All faucets are from the Riobel line – www.riobel.com – An afforadable, high-style line.…

This is a shot of the Master Bedroom. The wall colour is: Silver Marlin, 2139-50, Benjamin Moore.
I incorporated two coffered ceilings in the bedroom and the closet areas are lit with rope lighting. Two matching (pendant/flushmount) organza and glass chandeliers hang in these spaces.…

Here is a shot of the Boy’s Bathroom mid installation. Mind the TP! A white 11 x 17 porcelain tile contrasts nicely with the dark espresso cabinet. The counter top is beautiful carrara marble. The walls were painted a soft blue: Moonshine OC-56, Benjamin Moore
In the shower I selected a blue porcelain wall tile installed in a brick pattern. As an accent I incorporated a band of marble mosaic. They are marble blue & white bubbles! How ridiculously cute is that!? Perfect for a boys bathroom.
Here is a shot of the vanity completed with it’s chrome faucet and co-ordinating wood frame mirror. The lighting was integrated into the mirror.…
